Thomas Rhett has gone through several major life changes in the past year, with the biggest being the addition of his two daughters into his life. Within just a few months, life was turned upside down in the best way possible as Willa Gray and Ada James came into the picture.

With that, Rhett admits, he’s gone through some personality changes too, and feels like he’s become a much more calm sort of person.

“I would hope that the people in this room think I’ve become a more patient person,” said Rhett while backstage at the 2018 CMA Music Festival. “I think that when you have kids you’re kind of forced to change a lot of stuff about yourself and your old habits. Because life really does change whether you want it to or not, and so I feel like I’ve become somewhat of a more laid-back human being.”

“You know, things that used to bother me don’t bother me anymore because there’s a lot bigger fish to fry when you have kids,” he continued with a grin. “They have made me just a better person all around. I would do anything for those two little girls. It’s been really cool to have them on the road especially with me this year. Just makes the road feel a whole lot more like home and I feel like I can be away a lot more and not be as homesick.”

Rhett will have plenty of time with his girls on the road as he continues his massively successful Life Changes Tour, with dates running through October 2018.
