Peyton Manning should probably just give country music a go since all he seems to do these days is hop on stage with any country star he can find to sing duets with them.

For his impromptu performance this time around, the former NFL quarterback joined Thomas Rhett on stage during the Celebration of Caring Gala that Manning hosts every year. When Rhett invited Manning to come up in front of the crowd to do a quick cover, the singer decided on a special song choice with a 1995 Rhett Akins hit, “That Ain’t My Truck.”

Manning may have played many Super Bowls and won hundreds of games in his career, but the pressure on him mounted when Rhett let him take the lead on the Southern classic. The former football player didn’t want to steal the spotlight during the charitable event in Indianapolis, so he made Rhett sing along.

The crowd erupted once the two finished off the chorus, and Manning looked proud as ever as he smiled happily since he got most of the words to the tune right.

The Celebration of Caring is held every year by Manning and his wife, and raised thousands of dollars to expand the intensive care unit at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent in Indianapolis. Not only did Rhett perform, but other donations were made through the silent auction and admission ticket funds.

For Manning though, he can add Rhett to his list of country duets at the Gala. His other appearances have been alongside stars such as Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Cole Swindell and Jake Owen during the annual festivities.

While one could only hope for more Manning cameos during country concerts, Rhett will just have to take his own show on the road sans the football superstar when he hits the road for the Life Changes Tour. Tickets are available on Rhett’s website.
