Not only is Thomas Rhett doing well on the country charts with his music, he and his wife are also doing some good for the community as they recently raised over $250,000 for 147 Million Orphans.

The charity event, Thomas Rhett & Friends, brought in a number of big name guests to help fundraise for the organization including artists like Dierks Bentley, Russell Dickerson, Walker Hayes, Shane McAnally and many more. Even surprising all in attendance was the country duo Florida Georgia Line, who performed an intimate set as guests dined on a farm-to-table meal.

During the night, many of the artists played a couple songs and they finished off the fall affair with a post-dinner s’more roasting.

Lauren Akins, Rhett’s wife, has been a major supporter for the charity and has recently prompted many fundraisers and events to benefit 147 Million Orphans alongside her husband. For the both of them, the night’s event was a huge success and helped out with the lives of countless children looking for necessities to live.

“Last night was an unreal experience for me and Lauren, to see our hometown, as well as people from all over the country, coming together to support something that’s so important to us,” Rhett said after the event. “Tuesday nights are like Saturday nights to artists, so I want to be sure to thank Dierks, Brian and Tyler, Shane, Walker and Russell for giving up part of their weekends to make it such a special night, and help us raise money and awareness for this amazing cause.”

147 Million Orphans is a charitable organization that provides food, water, medicine and shelter to children affected by the orphan crisis abroad. Many children are taken care of by the organization every day in countries such as Haiti, Uganda, Honduras and the United States thanks to the generous donations by those who donate.
