When it comes to love, Thomas Rhett plays the hopeless romantic card well as he recollects the moments of falling for someone in the infectious new single, “Unforgettable.”

Written with top Nashville writers Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure and Shane McAnally, Rhett woos over the woman in question with his spot-on reminiscing of the first night they met. From the silly game of guessing middle names to singing Coldplay songs at the bar, the country singer rewinds time with his lighthearted approach to love and his girl can’t get enough of it.

“It’s a song about reminding the girl that you’re with today, ‘Hey, I remember every single detail of the night we met,’” Rhett told The Tennessean about the toe-tapping tune. “I think it’s something girls will find sweet and attractive about someone they like.”

Every hook of the catchy song grabs the listener in with another tidbit Rhett recalls, with the sappy lyrics like, “That it’s crazy I remember every detail but I do / From your blue jeans to your shoes / Girl that night was just like you / Unforgettable.” Nevertheless, Rhett still wins hearts over for his dedication to the relationship and the honest love he has for his lady in waiting.

Of course, “Unforgettable” immediately makes fans believe the song was inspired by Rhett’s real life love story with his wife, Lauren, as many regard the two as country couple goals. Noting that the single is “one of [Lauren’s] favorite songs on the record” as quoted by The Tennessean, the simple song will melt the hearts of many who relate to a laidback anniversary meeting such as theirs.

“Unforgettable” marks the second single from Rhett’s forthcoming third record called Life Changes. Rolling with his theme about the nostalgic times of the past and true love prevailing throughout the record, the song doesn’t lose sight of Rhett’s progression into a more pop-country sound.

Fans can stream “Unforgettable” now and expect Life Changes to hit stores and digital music sites everywhere on Friday, September 8.
