He’s new to the whole ‘dad’ title, but people still continue to flood Thomas Rhett with parenting questions no matter where he goes.

As a part of the Citi Concert Series put on during the summer by the TODAY show, Rhett chatted all things fatherhood before performing live at the iconic Rockefeller Plaza. Adopting a new member to her own family recently, host Hoda Kotb stole Rhett’s little girl, Willa, away for a bit as she felt connected to the toddler from the get-go. She even asked for the country star to give her a tip or two at what it’s like raising a child as a new parent.

“I’ve been a dad for right at three weeks so I don’t know how good my parenting advice is, but to me, I just think it becomes a new normal,” Rhett said during a TODAY Facebook Live session. “You live your life so long just caring for yourself or caring for one other person and then you bring a child into it, and it’s a whole different ball game. For us, we just try to soak it in and really pay attention and watch her grow up and try to remember all the little subtleties.”

Noting that Willa isn’t one to shy away from the stage, Rhett joked that the spotlight is officially on his cute little girl after having her join their family just three weeks ago.

“Well, Hoda just ruined her because if you saw that shot they did, she was crying because she wanted to be back on stage so bad. And if you give her a microphone, you’re not gonna get it back,” Rhett joked.

He then took the Plaza stage surrounded by thousands of fans to perform some of his big hits such as “Die a Happy Man,” “Star of the Show,” and his latest radio single, “Craving You.”

Rhett will return to Nashville soon enough for the 2017 CMT Music Awards as a nominee among his country pals. The awards air on Wednesday, June 7, at 8 p.m. ET on CMT.
