Congratulations to Thomas Rhett for his Single of the Year Award win at the 50th annual CMA Awards! Rhett won for his smash-hit, “Die a Happy Man,” from his latest album, Tangled Up.

The award for Single of the Year is presented to the Artist, Producer(s), and Mix Engineer(s).

“I gotta thank these dudes behind me right here. They made it all happen. I gotta first thank the Lord for making all this happen for us, for opening the doors for me and making me sing in the first place. My lovely wife in the blue dress right there. She was the full inspiration for this song and I’m still trying to get over the opening of this show. Me and Garth were crying together. It was a very intimate moment. Thank you so much to the CMAs, to country radio and all my amazing fans, my record label and my management. This is…God, this is a dream come true. This is gonna go in a special place. Thank you guys so much. Cheers,” Rhett said while accepting his trophy.

Other nominees in the Single of the Year category included Tim McGraw’s “Humble and Kind,” Maren Morris’ “My Church,” Chris Stapleton’s “Nobody To Blame,” and Eric Church’s “Record Year.”
