Even though the CMA Awards aren’t for a couple more days, Thomas Rhett is already a winner this week, earning his ninth career No. 1 single with “Unforgettable.”

The uptempo love song about remembering the first time he saw that special someone resonated with fans and country radio alike to boost its way up the charts rapidly to reach that top slot. Noting that the accolade comes with an even greater value by having his closest friends and colleagues in town for the events going on this week, Rhett can’t wait to celebrate with his Home Team crew.

“This is a really cool way to kick off CMA week,” Rhett said in a press release. “It’s always a good week because everyone is in town, we all get to see each other, hang out backstage at the show, but to also find out ‘Unforgettable’ is No. 1 is awesome.”

Before “Unforgettable” made its way up the list, Rhett scored a No. 1 with “Craving You,” which was a rocking collaboration he created with Maren Morris. The dynamic duo even showed off their acting skills in the fiery music video, whether Rhett got down to business fighting off evil as an undercover cop.

Looking toward the rest of the week, the singer will suit up for the 51st Annual CMA Awards and get to hang out with some of his country music community. Rhett snagged a few nominations in the Music Video of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year categories.

“Unforgettable” can be found on Rhett’s latest album, Life Changes, which is available everywhere now.
