Thomas Rhett just earned a fantastic early Christmas present! His latest single, “Die A Happy Man,” landed in the No.1 slot on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart this week.

The song, which was co-written by Rhett, Sean Douglas and Joe Spargur, is from his sophomore album Tangled Up and marks his fifth consecutive No.1.

“It’s been really cool to see a song that is so personal to me and Lauren become something so many other people can relate to,” the Georgia native shared. “This year has been wild and I can’t really think of a better way to close it out.”

He actually wrote the song at Lauren’s request.

“My wife has been on me for years to write something for her like Tim McGraw’s ‘Just to See You Smile,’” he said when the single was announced. “Obviously this isn’t exactly like that, but it’s my interpretation. It’s one-hundred percent autobiographical of our relationship in a three-and-a-half minute ballad. It’s probably my favorite song I’ve ever written and it will be amazing to show our grandkids the video one day.”

Rhett will continue to celebrate the news when he hits the road in 2016 as part of Jason Aldean’s We Were Here 2016 Tour, which kicks off in January.
