We sat down with Carrie Underwood backstage at her Storyteller Tour to learn all about the show and its 360-production.
After wrapping her wildly-successful Storyteller Tour, Carrie Underwood is letting fans re-live the magic with her latest live concert film, The Carrie Underwood: The Storyteller Tour – Stories In The Round, Live from Madison Square Garden. Recorded during her sold-out show in the Big Apple, the film follows Underwood as she struts her stuff around her circular stage and belts out her biggest hits for fans in the famous arena.
While out on her Storyteller Tour, the Oklahoma native let Sounds Like Nashville capture some of the magic that goes into making the show. Giving us backstage access, Underwood shared secrets behind the makings of a successful tour.
“It is a big production, but it just has its moments,” she told SLN. “It has its ebbs and flows…There’s a lot going on, and it has its moments where there’s nothing going on, from a production standpoint.”
The Storyteller Tour was in the round, which allowed a 360-degree view of the stage. The decision to share her “Stories in the Round” was an easy one for Underwood, who wanted to give fans an interactive experience, no matter where they were seated.
“It’s a little more interactive and I feel like I can see everybody, which is really cool about being in the round,” she explained. “We’ve always tried, in previous tours, to get me out to the people that I wouldn’t necessarily see otherwise from one end of the arena, but I see everybody…It’s really amazing how I can find different groups of people just to be like, ‘oh my gosh, you’re so into this right now,’ giving me energy and hopefully, I’m just giving it right back.”
