In 2007, NBC was celebrating the 75th annual Rockefeller Christmas tree lighting in New York City. And who better than Carrie Underwood to help ring in the most wonderful time of the year?

After being introduced by hosts Nick Lachey and Ashley Tisdale, Underwood took the spotlight to deliver a countrified version of the holiday classic “Do You Hear What I Hear?”

Fresh off her 2007 win as CMA Female Vocalist of the Year and release of her sophomore album, Carnival Ride, the American Idol alum delivered her rendition of the tune without missing a single note. Clad in a warm winter coat and gloves, Underwood kicked up the tempo of the hymn while adding steel guitar and fiddle to make the song uniquely her own and brought a taste of Nashville to the Big Apple.

Though not nationally singing any Christmas carols this year, Underwood has still found a way to warm our hearts this holiday season. She recently released a video montage of personal photos of her family life with husband Mike Fisher and baby boy Isaiah with her track “What I Never Knew I Always Wanted,” a tune she has called a love song for her boys.
