Time and time again Justin Timberlake has proven that he can do it all. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that an 11-year-old JT can make us melt with his rendition of the Alan Jackson classic “Love’s Got a Hold on You.”

In 1992, a pre-teen Timberlake took his talents to the national television show Star Search. He took the stage as Justin Randall and dressed to the nines in cowboy attire; boots, hat and giant buckle included.

Even at a young age, Timberlake looked like he belonged in the spotlight. As he crooned the country hit, he had the whole audience clapping along and cheering him on. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough to edge out his competition, who he lost to by .75 stars. Always the good sport, he politely shook the young girls’ hand before making his way off the stage.

We don’t think that loss held him back, though.

Timberlake is now more known for his pop hits, but he doesn’t completely stray away from country. In 2015, Timberlake joined Chris Stapleton for a one-of-a-kind CMA Awards performance and invited his collaborator to duet on his most recent album, Man of the Woods.
