Kelly Clarkson is a vocal powerhouse all on her own, but when you combine that with legends Reba McEntire and Trisha Yearwood, the result is a powerful hymn that will entrance even the grumpiest of Scrooges.

In 2013, Clarkson aired her own Christmas special, Kelly Clarkson’s Cautionary Christmas Music Tale, on NBC. The program is a story that features Clarkson as a failing entertainer who decides to put on a holiday television program to revive her career. Throughout the tale, she runs into obstacles, such as not being able to get enough celebrities to join her, which ultimately turns her into the ultimate Grinch.

At the conclusion of the story, she is embarrassed by the lack of interest and runs away from the theatre where the show was being shot. Outside she runs into her previous assistant, who is now homeless. Due to the magic of Christmas, she sheds her heart of coal and follows her new friends to the homeless shelter where she treats the tenants to a rendition of “White Christmas.” A viral video ensues that saves both her career and Christmas.

In the depths of Clarkson’s special, country music has a prominent role. Blake Shelton joins the cast, dressed as an elf, as well as country music royalty McEntire and Yearwood.

In one of the most touching moments of the show, McEntire, Yearwood and Clarkson gather on stage for a hallowed take on the classic “Silent Night.” Clad in beautiful evening gowns, the three join together centerstage to take on angelic harmonies for a one-of-a-kind performance.

We could have this song on repeat all season long. Make sure to also checkout Clarkson’s latest project, the soulful Meaning of Life.
