It’s that time of year again!

Luke Bryan officially kicks off his annual Farm Tour on Thursday (Sept. 28). As the tour gears up for it’s ninth annual year, Sounds Like Nashville is taking you back in time to Farm Tour 2016, when Bryan gave us an exclusive backstage tour.

The setting: October 7 in Greenback, TN at Maple Lane Farms. On a hot day just hours before breaking his clavicle during a freak bicycling accident, the Georgia native played host to SLN’s camera crew to give fans an inside look at the production that goes on for a Farm Tour show.

“It’s a little dusty right now… we are ‘kicking up the dust,'” Bryan joked as our behind-the-scenes tour kicked off.

As he walked, Bryan pointed out the many crew members and musicians hustling around backstage, and even gave a brief glimpse at his hearty workout… all of one pull-up.

A ton of work goes into making the annual expedition a success, but one of the key components is making sure students from the farming communities in which they play can attend college. Since its inception in 2009, Bryan has provided more than 50 scholarships to students allowing them to receive a higher education, in hopes that they’ll take what they’ve learned and help their farms thrive.

“Anytime we can take a step to help facilitate dreams and agriculture and be smarter in how the food’s being made and being safer and stuff like that, the awareness of that can never be undermined…. If I can educate some people on it and that can be my platform, I think I’ll always, the farmers out there and the people in that world will appreciate and they’ll know I’ve kinda stayed true to my roots,” said Bryan recently.

Farm Tour 2017 kicks off Sept. 28 in Lincoln, NE. Joining Bryan for the journey this year will be Jon PardiAdam Craig, the Peach Pickers (Rhett AkinsDallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip), Jon Langston and DJ Rock.
