Faith Hill has made her mark in music since she first stepped on the scene. She has hits on both country and pop radio and 17 years ago this week she released one of country music’s most successful albums, Breathe.

This iconic record was her fourth studio album and sold more than 8 million copies in the United States alone, marking the project with RIAA 8x platinum certification. Upon Breathe’s release, it debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Top Country albums list.

In addition to the title track, the record featured hit singles “The Way You Love Me,” “Let’s Make Love” and “If My Heart Had Wings.” The immense success of Breathe landed Hill with a Grammy award in 2001 for Best Country Album.

The following year Hill teamed up with her husband Tim McGraw to take their show on the road in the first installment of the Soul2Soul Tour. The setlist included hits from her recent album, including the McGraw-Hill duet, “Let’s Make Love.”

Following Breathe, Hill crossed over more toward the pop genre, releasing the crossover album, Cry, in 2002. She made her return to country records with her 2005 release, Fireflies.

McGraw and Hill have made plans to reincarnate their Soul2Soul tour in 2017. The 65-date trek will kick off April 7 in New Orleans and wind throughout the country before wrapping late October in Brooklyn.
