Season 11 of The Voice is slated to premiere this coming Monday, Sep. 19. The anticipation of the next wave of potential stars has us reminiscing to 2012, when a young RaeLynn made her debut on the singing competition and blossomed her entire career.

The first time we met RaeLynn she was a 17-year-old with a dream and a voice that made her stand out from the rest. Our first glimpse at the rising star was during the blind auditions of season 2 on The Voice, which aired in the first half of 2012.

RaeLynn took the stage with her long blonde locks and flattering sundress, sporting her own guitar, to perform a rendition of the Pistol Annies hit, “Hell on Heels.”

“He made me pretty/He made me smart, And I’m going to break me a million hearts/I’m hell on heels, baby I’m comin’ for you,” she sang with her signature twang in hope of the judge’s approval. “I got a pink guitar, a Lincoln Town Car/From ol’ what’s his name I met at a bar/Got a high-rise flat in Hollywood/From a married man who wasn’t up to no good/I’m hell on heels, baby I’m comin’ for you.”

Her parents are shown on the side of the stage obviously excited for her time to shine in the spotlight. Adam Levine was the first judge to turn around, quickly followed by Blake Shelton. Both males wanted RaeLynn on their team, but ultimately she decided to partner with fellow country star, Shelton.

During the following weeks on the show she went on to sing hits such as “Free Fallin’,” “She’s Country” and “Wake Up Call.” She made it to the final quarters of the show, where she was eliminated by Shelton after singing “If I Die Young.”

Although she didn’t win the trophy, her path as a singer had gotten the direction it needed. After the show’s end, she went on to sign a major record deal and release her first single, “God Made Girls.”

RaeLynn has come a long way since her days on reality television and in front of our eyes she has grown into a beautiful young woman with a developed voice and her whole career in front of her. She recently released the first single, “Love Triangle,” off her debt full-length project, titled WildHorse, which will be released on Dec. 2.
