The fans have spoken and Tim McGraw’s moving “Humble and Kind” music video has taken home the night’s top honor at the 2016 CMT Music Awards.

“You know we all love what we do,” McGraw said during his heartfelt acceptance speech. “We get to do this and a lot of people are involved in making anything artistic happen and when we make a footprint as an artist, there’s a lot of people involved in making that footprint. We do it because we hope to move you. We hope that we make a little big of an impact in your life and you care a little bit about what we do, so thank y’all for caring a little bit about what we do because we care a whole lot about y’all.”

With his Video of the Year win, McGraw de-thrones Carrie Underwood from her winning streak of four consecutive CMT Video of the Year wins.

Other nominees in the category included Blake Shelton’s “Sangria,” Underwood’s “Smoke Break,” Chris Stapleton’s “Fire Away,” Luke Bryan’s “Strip It Down,” and Thomas Rhett’s “Die A Happy Man.”

The 2016 CMT Music Awards, hosted by Erin Andrews and J.J. Watt, aired tonight on CMT.
