The fuel shortage in the Southeast has caused much concern over the last week, so much so that Toby Keith has canceled tonight’s show scheduled at the Florence Civic Center in Florence, SC.

“This is a major show for the region which attracts fans within a 1 to 2 hour drive and beyond.  We understand the growing concerns for Toby’s fans and our own fans as we’ve been receiving distress messages over the past couple days,” said Florence Civic Center General Manager, Kendall Wall, in a statement.

Collectively, the Florence Civic Center and Toby’s tour managers agreed to postpone the show until 2017.

“It would be unfair for these fans and unrealistic for them to travel given the current dismal situation with gas prices and availability,” Wall added.

Concerns arose as North Carolina remained in a state of emergency and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley issued an executive order to assist in gasoline supplies.

The show has been rescheduled for March 9, 2017 and tickets will remain valid for the new date. Refunds will be available for a limited time for purchasers who are unable to attend the revised date and will be available at the original point of sale.
