Toby Keith To Perform Merle Haggard Tribute at American Country Countdown Awards

Toby Keith will honor the late Merle Haggard, whom he calls “the greatest singer songwriter of my lifetime,” at the upcoming 2016 American Country Countdown Awards.
The Oklahoma native will be backed by Haggard’s longtime band, The Strangers, which includes Haggard’s son, Ben. The legendary singer’s widow, Thersea, along with other members of the Haggard family, will also be in attendance.
Oscar®-winning actor Matthew McConaughey will be on hand to introduce the heartfelt tribute.
Previously announced ACCA performers include Brooks & Dunn, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Kelsea Ballerini, Cam, Dan + Shay, Sam Hunt, Martina McBride and Cole Swindell.
The 2016 American Country Countdown Awards will air live on FOX on Sunday May 1 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), and will take place at The Forum in Inglewood, CA.
