Trace Adkins Teams with Knoxville Concert Venue to Donate $10,000 to Family of Slain Police Officer

Trace Adkins and Knoxville concert venue The Back Porch on the Creek have teamed up to help the family of slain Maryville Police Department Officer Kenneth Moats. Moats was killed last week in the line of duty, reports WATE in Maryville.

Together, Adkins and The Back Porch will donate $10,000 in support of the Moats family.

In addition, The Back Porch is planning on donating $1 of every ticket sold at Adkins upcoming Friday night concert to the Fraternal Order of the Police. Law enforcement officers will also get free admission to the concert by showing his or her badge at the gate.

According to WATE, Brian Keith Stalans was charged with criminal homicide in the death of Officer Moats after allegedly setting up an ambush for law enforcement. He has also been charged with four counts of aggravated assault. A preliminary hearing has been set for Sept. 15 at 1:30 p.m.
