In December, after three years, the North American leg of the Garth Brooks World Tour Featuring Trisha Yearwood came to a close with a run of sold out shows in Nashville. With the door closing on that chapter of the singers’ successful careers, they are already preparing for the road ahead. While Brooks and Yearwood have been tight-lipped about what they have up their sleeves for 2018 and beyond, they recently offered a bit of information about what’s to come.

“Once I take a nap in January, I am going to start on two new music projects. I can’t tell you about one of them, but… it’s a surprise. I’m listening to songs now. I need to clear my head. This is a lot, and I film my cooking show when we’re not on the road, so there’s a lot going on right now,” Yearwood explained to Sounds Like Nashville and other media recently. “But I want to be able to calm my mind down a little bit and I feel music tapping on the shoulder. It’s time to get back in and get some music made.”

While Yearwood remained mum on her musical endeavors to come, Brooks was a little more open about his plans, sharing that a live album from this tour is on the horizon, as well as the possibility of a live single.

“With the tour ending, all the live stuff is now coming to a boil. I think the next song, if it’s something off a record you’ve heard or if it’s brand new, I think it’s going to be a live version of it because I want to bring that energy to radio as well,” the Oklahoma native shared. “I’d love to capture what goes on on the stage and get it on the radio waves.”

The Garth Brooks World Tour Featuring Trisha Yearwood featured 390 performances in 78 cities. The couple played to a total of 6.4 million fans while on the tour, which ran from September 4, 2014 to December 23, 2017.
