Trisha Yearwood just knocked that anthem out of the park... or rink, for that matter!

If this doesn’t cement the name Smashville, nothing will! Monday night (5/22), Trisha Yearwood smashed her performance of the National Anthem at the NHL Playoffs Game inside Bridgestone Arena. The Georgia native stunned the audience with her rendition as she sang from center ice donned in navy and yellow.

Rumors of Yearwood’s involvement began swirling early in the day as her husband Garth Brooks teased the news that his bride may be singing the anthem when he posted a teaser status to his Facebook.

He quickly garnered multiple comments from eagle-eyed fans who guessed that he’d be the special guest performer. It seems as if he’s just a supportive husband watching his bride from the sidelines after responding with “#AskMeHowIKnow who is singing the National Anthem tonight?!! Hint: It’s not me, but I will announce on #StudioG!!!! love, g.”

He later confirmed it with a live video on Facebook as part of his Inside Studio G live series.

Yearwood’s performance joins the long list of Nashville’s top tier talent who have stepped into the rink to proudly display their pipes on the iconic tune. Carrie Underwood Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, Vince GillKeith Urban and Kelly Clarkson have all graced the ice with special performances ahead of the Preds’ playoff games.

Currently, the series is 3-2 with the Nashville Predators taking the lead against the Anaheim Ducks. Should the Pred take home a W after tonight’s game, they will move on to the Stanley Cup Finals. If the Ducks win, the series will return to Anaheim for Game 7 and decide who moves on to the next round.
