THE 51ST ANNUAL CMA AWARDS - "The 51st Annual CMA Awards," hosted for the 10th year by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, airs live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, WEDNESDAY, NOV. 8 (8:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network. (ABC/Image Group LA) ANGIE GENTRY

Troy Gentry’s wife and daughter honored the late singer’s memory at the 51st annual CMA Awards Wednesday night.

Gentry’s wife Angie strolled the red carpet with their 15-year-old daughter Kaylee, with both ladies looking gorgeous in their fabulous dresses. Angie donned a beautiful plum gown with an accenting bow to match, while Kaylee looked ravishing in a deep violet dress. Their presence is made even more special by the fact that the late Gentry had promised to take his daughter to her first awards show this year. While he sadly wasn’t there to do the honors, her mother stepped in to make that dream come true.

Gentry, one half of beloved country duo Montgomery Gentry, tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in August of 2017. He was honored with a funeral service at the Grand Ole Opry that brought out the likes of Little Big Town and his longtime music partner Eddie Montgomery to pay their respects. Montgomery also paid tribute to his friend during the 2017 CMA Awards, surprising the audience when he joined Dierks Bentley and Rascal Flatts onstage to sing their hit, “My Town,” with images of Gentry’s smiling face flashing in the background, bringing Angie to tears.

Montgomery plans to release the duo’s upcoming album, Here’s to You in early 2018. He announced the news on Instagram on Nov. 8. “Hey Guys – I know it’s been a while but it has been a very emotional time, but you will be hearing from me soon. Our new music is coming out and I hope you’ll give it a listen. Me and T-Roy were very proud of this new cd,” the singer writes.

Here’s to You is set for release in February.
