The wait is long over because Tyler Farr is coming back to the stage.

Farr, who has been on vocal rest since undergoing throat surgery earlier this year, is set to perform his first show post-op at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in Nashville. The performance will be presented by NRA Country and hosted by SirirusXM radio host Storme Warren.

Because of the finding of a vocal polyp on his throat in 2015, Farr was forced to cancel his tour to recover from his vocal surgery. To thank the fans for their patience through this bout, Farr thought what better way to show his gratitude than with a free show at his former stomping grounds.

“I worked at Tootsie’s when I first moved to Nashville,” he said. “Seems fitting to have my first show be back where it started!”

Farr’s tumultuous journey with his vocal cords began while he was on the road with Jason Aldean last year. The problem became severe enough to bring his touring to an abrupt halt in order to fix the damaged cords before it was too late.

“This is the last thing I would’ve ever expected,” said Farr. “I sing hard, and I give it everything I have every night, but I really believed I was putting my training to work. After a #1 song, an awesome tour with Jason and getting engaged, this is not how I thought I was going to be winding up 2015.”

The free performance will be held at Tootsie’s in downtown Nashville on Sunday, May 15, at 7 p.m. CST for the fans who stuck by Farr’s side through this whole ordeal.
