‘Whisperin’ Bill’ Anderson To Release Autobiography

Legendary songwriter and performer “Whisperin’ Bill” Anderson is set to release an autobiography later this year.

The 360-page book, entitled Whisperin’ Bill Anderson: An Unprecedented Life In Country Music, will hit stores September 1, 2016 and will feature personal stories and never-before-seen photos from the 78-year-old’s life and career.

“I sometimes look in the mirror and wonder how one man could have been so blessed to have crammed so much living into one lifetime,” Anderson shares. “I see the gray on my temples and instead of trying to hide it, I remember how much fun I had putting it there. Writing it down for these pages was almost akin to living it again, though, and I probably need to take a deep breath, relax and go sit down in the corner. Come sit with me, bring the book, and let me tell you about it.”

Respected music journalist Peter Cooper was a contributing writer to the autobiography.

Anderson, who was youngest writer to ever be named BMI “Songwriter Of The Year” before Taylor Swift, is known for writing many hit songs, including Kenny Chesney’s “A Lot Of Things Different,” George Strait’s “Give It Away,” and the CMA/ACM award-winning song, “Whiskey Lullaby,” recorded by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss.

Bill Anderson will celebrate his 55th anniversary as a Grand Old Opry member this summer.
