Could country power-group Pistol Annies be making a comeback in 2018? The prospect seems likely after Miranda Lambert teased in several recent interviews that the group is working on new music.

“2018, we’re hoping for,” Lambert told country radio morning show Ty, Kelly & Chuck, also promising Billboard that new songs are on the way.

Fans have been hoping for new music from the trio for nearly four years. Fellow band member, Ashley Monroe, shared that the women had “a lot of song ideas going” in a 2015 interview.

“You know, Pistol Annies started out that it was just organic,” she explained. “Me and Miranda thought of it on a couch, she had never met Angaleena, and we called her and got started. That’s the thing with us, we never want to force it. If we’re too busy, then don’t force it, they’ll be a time when things let up a little bit, then we’ll make more music.”

Since that time, the Annies reunited for a surprise performance on Lambert’s Keeper of the Flame Tour in 2016, and also penned a track together on Angeleena Presley’s solo album, Wrangled.

The critically acclaimed trio first burst into the country scene with their debut album Hell on Heels in 2011. The band’s follow-up, Annie Up, was released in 2013 before the ladies each spent time working on separate projects.
