Willie Nelson Gives His Hilarious Thoughts about the 2016 Presidential Election

Willie Nelson has never been one to keep his opinion to himself. Outspoken in his own ways, Nelson always speaks his truth with a touch of humor thrown into the mix. When it comes to the 2016 Presidential Election, it’s no different for him.

During an interview with ABC affiliate KSAT, Nelson weighed in on the madness of the election with quite the funny outlook on everything.

“It’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” he said. “I’ve seen the circus a few times, but this beats any circus I’ve ever seen.”

While some people may underestimate his view on politics at the moment, it’s true to say that the 82-year-old country legend has experienced a lot of interesting political motions and validates his reasoning for referring to the campaigns as a “circus” time and time again.

Nelson even made an interesting observation about the candidates’ intentions and how they make their game plans about negative comments rather than plans to fix the country.

“Seems like they’re just tearing each other down,” Nelson said. “They can’t wait to say something negative about somebody and then they still want us to vote for them.”

It’s obvious that Nelson isn’t cutting himself short any time soon, whether it be in his interviews or his touring. The singer surprised fans at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, as well as attended a Kris Kristofferson tribute concert in Nashville with many other stars.

While he may be getting up there, Nelson still knows how to keep his legacy going.
