Year In Review: 2012 Country Babies
We’re just days away from ringing in the new year, but before we get excited about all of the great things to come in 2013, we are re-living 2012!
First we took a look back at 2012’s Country engagements, then we recapped the year’s weddings, and now we’re celebrating 2012’s births.
We’re wondering if there something in the water because it seems like there was another huge baby boom this year!
Here’s a look at 2012’s Country babies…
Jo Dee Messina and her husband Chris Deffenbaugh welcomed their second son to the family on January 11. 6-pound, 13-ounce Jonah Christopher Deffenbaugh joins three-year-old brother Noah.
Matt Kennon’s wife Tisha gave birth to Shaynee Matisse Kennon on February 23. The little girl weighed in at 7lbs. 2 oz. and was 20 inches long.
Randy Montana became a first time father when his wife Montgomery Lee gave birth to a baby girl named Sullivan Mae on February 27. Sullivan weighed 8 lb., 4 oz. and was 19 ½ inches long.
Mindy McCready and boyfriend/music producer David Wilson welcomed a baby boy named Zayne into the world on April 9. Zayne, McCready’s second son, joins big brother Zander.
Joe Nichols and his wife Heather also expanded their family this year. The couple welcomed a daughter to the world on April 17. Dylan River was born at a healthy 7 lbs 5 oz and 21 ¼ inches long. She is the first child for the couple, who married in 2007, and joins Joe’s daughter Ashelyn, from a previous relationship.
Josh Kelley and wife Katherine Heigl adopted their second daughter in April of this year. Adalaide Marie Hope joins the couple’s first adopted daughter, Naleigh.
Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus and his wife Allison welcomed a baby boy on July 20. Dylan Jay DeMarcus weighed in at 7 lbs., 11 oz. The baby boy joins the couple’s first child, Madeline Leigh.
Eli Young Band frontman Mike Eli and his wife Kacey welcomed their first child, a daughter, into the world on July 30. Kline Olivia was 20¼ inches long and weighed 6 lbs., 15 oz.
Tayla Lynn, of Country trio Stealing Angels, gave birth to a little boy named Tru on August 3. The baby is the first for Tayla and her husband Jon Finger.
The Dixie Chicks’ Emily Robison continued to expand her family this year when she celebrated the birth of her fourth child, Violet Isabel Strayer on September 4. The 8.5 lbs. little girl is Emily’s first child with Court Yard Hounds musician and boyfriend Martin Strayer.
JT Hodges and his wife Kasey welcomed a baby girl into the world on October 12. Delta Faye weighed 9 pounds and 4 ounces. She joins Charlee Joy, who turned two this month.
Emily Robertson and Marc “Butter” Fortney welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on October 16. Robertson, of Carter’s Chord, and Fortney, of Trailer Choir, named the 7 pound, 20 inch baby Tug Ryder Fortney.
Jake Owen had a very special Thanksgiving this year. He and his wife Lacey celebrated the birth of Olive Pearl Owen on November 22. The little girl, who was named after Jake’s Godmother, weighed 6lbs 3 oz.
On December 6, Sugarland‘s Jennifer Nettles and her husband Justin Miller welcomed their first child, a son, into the world. The couple announced that Magnus Hamilton Miller and Nettles were both healthy, but released no further details.
Sarah Buxton and her husband, musician Tom Bukovac, welcomed their first baby into the world earlier this month. Buxton gave birth to Marshall, a baby boy, on December 4.
