In 2016, 14 country music couples expanded their families with the birth of a little boy or girl. Many of them, like Thompson Square and Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley became first-time parents, while others, like Granger Smith and Kelly Clarkson, added to their brood.

While the end of 2015 was memorable for LOCASH’s Preston Brust between getting engaged and married within weeks, 2016 couldn’t have kicked off any better for him and his bride, who welcomed a baby girl in the front end of January. Love Lily Brust joined her parents Preston and Kristen on January 5. The baby girl weighed in at 7 lbs., 7 oz. and measured 18½ inches.

Gloriana’s Tom Gossin and his wife welcomed a baby boy in January. “Yesterday at 5:35pm Jaime and I welcomed our first child and son, Casimir Latrille Gossin into this world. Best day of my life!” the proud dad proclaimed on Twitter. Since his birth, Casimir has been an intricate part of his dad’s social media feed.
After 16 years of marriage, Thompson Square became Thompson Cubed (get it? Math joke!) when they welcomed Rigney Cooper into the world in January. “God blessed us this morning with a little 7 pound 13 oz miracle,” the couple told E! News at the time. “It’s hard to explain this kind of love. We’re so overjoyed. He’s already got us wrapped around his little finger.”

January was wrapped up with the birth of Jolie Rae, the daughter of singer Jana Kramer and her former football player husband Michael Caussin. Jolie made her first appearance in Nashville at four in the afternoon on Jan. 31, weighing 7 lbs., 1 oz. While Kramer and Caussin’s marriage is currently on the rocks, Jolie is getting plenty of love from her proud mom with plenty of adorable pics of the growing girl on Instagram.

Charles Kelley and his wife fulfilled a Lady Antebellum prophecy when they welcomed baby boy Ward Charles into the world. Lady A bandmates Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood each previously welcomed a girl and boy, respectively, thus giving fans dreams for a Baby A group to one day be formed. Charles ended up skipping the Grammys, where he was a nominee, to be with his wife for the birth. “Can’t stop staring at this little nugget. he has @cassiemkelley nose, yay! and he’s so calm unlike his father. glad I didn’t head up to the @thegrammys events this week or I would’ve missed the coolest day of my life ha!” he chronicled on Instagram.

Former American Idol finalist Casey James is typically pretty private about his personal life, but couldn’t help himself when it came to posting that he became a brand new dad. His wife Kelli delivered the baby girl in mid-February. Fans still don’t know the little girl’s name, but they do get to see her snuggling with her pop (or one of his pups) quite a bit on James’ Instagram feed.

The wildly-talented Williams family line has grown again after Hank Williams’ granddaughter, Holly, gave birth to her second daughter Lillie Mae Louise on March 8. “We are SO incredibly excited to announce the birth of God’s newest gift to us!” Williams told Us Weekly at the time. “Lillie Mae Louise Coleman has made our hearts flutter, and her big sister Stella June is beyond thrilled about the newest addition to our family…”

Just two months after his band mate welcomed a baby girl, LOCASH’s Chris Lucas also added to his family. Remi McKenna Lucas arrived Monday, March 21 at 9:21 p.m., weighing 6 pounds, 10 ounces and 19 inches long. Baby girl Remi joined big brother Caden, 5, who couldn’t have been more excited for a little sister. “We’d spent five years with no luck with conceiving a second child,” the couple shared. “Just when we thought it was unlikely and wasn’t going to happen, our little boy came to us and said he wanted a sister, so we told him to pray to God that night! Well, one month later, we were pregnant!”
Country newcomer William Michael Morgan had a lot of milestones this year, including releasing his debut album, Vinyl, but the biggest of which was likely the birth of his daughter Presley. “I am so excited to be a dad!” he shared on Facebook. “I can’t wait to experience all the joys of being a father, like seeing my baby girl grow, crawl, walk, hearing her call me ‘Daddy’ for the first time, starting school, and so much more.” Morgan is certainly enjoying fatherhood, posting pics of his time with Presley whenever he’s home from the road.

After surprising her family with her spur-of-the-moment pregnancy announcement at a concert in Los Angeles, Kelly Clarkson welcomed a baby boy on April 21. Remington Alexander is the second child for Clarkson and her husband Brandon Blackstock. The couple previously welcomed a little girl, River Rose, and also care for Blackstock’s older children, Savannah and Seth.
In late May, Granger Smith and his wife Amber grew their brood to five when they welcomed their third child, River Kelly, into the world. The couple shared the news with a photo of their new addition with big sister London and big brother Lincoln Monarch on Facebook. “Heart and hands are full,” he wrote. “We added one more boy to the clan. River Kelly Smith has joined his brother and sister!”

Just a few months after getting engaged, Nashville star Chris Carmack and his fiancee Erin Slaver welcomed a baby girl into their family. “In my life, I never imagined I’d experience something so beautiful. I couldn’t have made it through naturally without @britteanderson and @realcarmack by my side. We are completely in love with our 2 day old, sweet baby girl…,” Slaver posted on Instagram with a pic of their adorable daughter.

September 1 was a life-changing day for Dee Jay Silver (nee John Perdue) and his wife Jenna. The couple gave birth to their first child together, a baby boy. Wake Silver Perdue arrived weighing 8.2 lbs and was 21.25 inches long. Perdue, who has previously toured with artists such as Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley, wed Jenna in January 2015.
In the midst of a very busy touring schedule, Jon Jones of Eli Young Band took a step back to spend some time at home with his wife and their brand new baby girl. Lila Pascale was born at 1:30 a.m. in Texas at 19 ½ inches and seven pounds. “We are overwhelmed with happiness and are already so in love with little Lila. Our family feels complete as we start this new chapter of our lives. The Eli Young Band family just got a little bigger and a little better,” Jones said with excitement.
