Zac Brown Band’s lead singer Zac Brown decided to expand his repertoire in music by trying something new…something he found within his new band, Sir Rosevelt.

Although Brown isn’t leaving behind country music or Zac Brown Band for good, he wanted to take on a more pop and instrumental sound in the creation of Sir Rosevelt. Their first single released, “Something ‘Bout You,” combines the elements of a truthful country song with the beats of Top 40 and the soul of a true vocalist.

Mirroring the 11 tracks recorded for Sir Rosevelt’s self-titled debut album, Brown worked together with bandmates Niko Moon and Ben Simonetti to capture the diverse genre-bending sound they set out toward. Executed coolly on “Something ‘Bout You,” the trio jam out but still keep that Southern influence alive in the dedicated lyrics.

Brown still wanted to keep close ties with the country community though, hence why “Something ‘Bout You” will come to country radio on February 12. Just like he did with the guys of ZBB, Brown and his new crew will promote it all around the country with hopes to tour North America for most of 2018.

On the other side of things, Brown will also join Zac Brown Band for the Down the Rabbit Hole Tour throughout the summer. More dates and information can be found on the band’s official website.

Sir Rosevelt’s first-ever album is available now.
