Last night (7/20), Hillary Scott stepped onto a stage set up in Nashville’s The Bell Tower to give music industry insiders a sneak peek into her and her family’s faith-based project, Love Remains. Lined up next to her onstage was mom Linda Davis, dad Lang Scott and sister Rylee.

The event was a family affair, as the entire family appears on the upcoming record Love Remains. As the show began, the Scott family made their way to the stage, much to the disapproval of nearly three-year-old Eisele, Hillary’s daughter with her drummer husband Chris Tyrrell. After replying a loud “YES!” to being asked if she wanted to sit onstage, the toddler made herself at home on a stool behind her family and joyfully danced with grandma Linda.

During their set, the family showcased their powerful vocals with songs like “Beautiful Messes” and “Safe Haven.” They included the album’s producer (or “pastor of the record,” says Hillary) Ricky Skaggs in the showcase, much to the approval of the excited audience.

The night included two very special performances that brought the audience to tears; their live rendition of the album’s title track and Hillary’s solo performance of “Thy Will.” Rylee kicked off the emotional song “Love Remains,” which Hillary described as the song that best represented their family unit. As the song went on, emotions started building for both the family and audience and nearly broke when Lang began his verse fighting back tears. The emotion was evident on all of their faces, with the lady of Lady Antebellum adding, “We cried A LOT in the studio.”

The other standout moment was Hillary’s solo performance of “Thy Will.” Her family moved side stage and allowed her to take in the moment. The song was recently revealed to be about a miscarriage she suffered last fall. One couldn’t help but watch Rylee and Linda offstage fighting back tears and notice her husband Chris unable to look up to the audience.

The family wanted to wrap the evening on a high note with the song “The River.” The song was a duet between Hillary and her mother, a duet she couldn’t be more excited about since her mother is a Grammy-winning artist for her duet with Reba on “Does He Love You.”

The event concluded with the Scott’s giving their thanks to the many songwriters involved in making the record and the support they’ve received from the people in the room, including Hillary’s bandmate Dave Haywood who was in the audience. After the stage cleared, the recorded tracks came on the speakers and a soon-to-be-star Eisele made her way back onstage, microphone in hand, to sing along.

Love Remains, featuring the single “Thy Will,” is set for release July 29. Pre-order your copy HERE.
