Known as the unofficial kickoff for the craziness that’s called CMA Music Festival, the 2018 CMT Music Awards also highlights the summer trends set for the season just weeks before its actual arrival.

Downtown Nashville turned into a runaway of sorts, with some of the biggest artists ditching their onstage style for an upgraded apparel change. While many of the ladies went down the shiny and sparkly route on the gray carpet, the men dressed down but in a slick and trendy way. In the end, everyone looked on par for the Music City celebration.

Take a look at some of the best dressed stars who attended the 2018 CMT Music Awards in Nashville:

Carrie UnderwoodYellow should definitely be the new black in terms of Carrie Underwood’s wardrobe because she made us “Cry Pretty” over this sunny number. Taking a note out of the book of being sexy, the singer showed a little bit of skin (and her signature legs) in the long-sleeve mini and stepped the fashion game up beyond her peers.

Carly PearceWho said tuxedoes were just for the men? Carly Pearce went down the sophisticated chic look by sporting a short blazer-looking romper and…that’s it! Striking a power pose with a confident hand on her hip and glowing smile upon her face, Pearce defined the meaning of ‘boss’ in more ways than one with her professional-inspired pieces.

Lauren AlainaLauren Alaina is definitely ‘Doin’ Fine’ enough to know that her off-white high-low gown gave her an angelic glow on the gray carpet. Pairing the silky quality of the skirt with her gold chain sandals, she truly looks like a gift from up above.

Kelsea BalleriniFor a girl who can’t get enough of her chicken nuggets and red wine, Kelsea Ballerini sure knows how to work for them abs! Showing off her fit frame in a black two-piece pant set complete with all the sparkles one could wish for, Ballerini became a ‘Legend’ in her own right by owning her strength in style and fitness.

Danielle BradberyIt’s officially the summer season, which means rolling up in all white is a more than acceptable style choice. Danielle Bradbery showed off her bronze glow in a tight white frock complete with pearl-beaded shoulders. The “Sway” singer proves that this look is ‘Worth It’ by topping it off with a bold red lip and a simple sandal heel in a cool yet comfortable manner.

Luke BryanReal talk: is it possible for Luke Bryan to ever look bad? On the 2018 CMT Music Awards gray carpet, he set the style bar really high in his gray suit with a patterned shirt tucked in. Although monochrome was the name of his game, it was his smile that stood out as the statement accessory for his ensemble.

Florida Georgia LineThe guys of FGL made their fashion efforts completely worth it as they cleaned up nice while strutting their stuff on the carpet. Tyler Hubbard opted for a more traditional outfit, in a cream-colored double-breasted blazer and matching pants while Brian Kelley added his signature flat-brimmed hat to a plaid blazer and cream-colored trouser look. Seems like keeping it ‘Simple’ makes a world of difference.

Joel McHale—We see you in your blue plaid, Joel McHale! Representing the worlds of both comedy and acting, he looked quite suave in his patterned suit and matched his black dress shoes with the same colored tie. The fit was perfect, the style was perfect, so everything just seemed perfect to say the least.

Bobby BonesIt’s the jacket that makes the man for this ensemble. Bobby Bones made a bold move by opting for the orange jacket to bring out the personality for his casual outfit. Nevertheless, the choice paid off in full and landed Bones far above the fashion from his country pals.

Russell DickersonThe CMT Awards focuses more on the casual elements of country, so Russell Dickerson embraced that concept by adding some sweet white kicks to an all-black outfit. With a little arm candy standing beside him (looking at you and your gorgeous self, Kailey Dickerson!), the night was definitely Dickerson’s one for the taking.
