Style Profile: Lindsay Ell

It’s an exciting time for Lindsay Ell! The Stoney Creek Recording Artist is back at Country radio with a sassy new single, “By The Way,” and she’s gearing up to hit the road with Jennifer Nettles on CMT’s 2016 Next Women of Country Tour.

We caught up with the singer/songwriter to chat about all things fashion + beauty! Check out Ell’s SLN Style Profile below.

On Her Daily Beauty Routine: My routine at night, I just started using Rodan and Fields which is a skin care line, and it changed my skin completely. So they have a whole system, so I do that at night. In the morning, I sort of start with that and then I use a lot of different kinds of makeup. When I wake up, I usually go to yoga, workout and then come home, shower and do skin stuff and get ready.

The Four Products She Can’t Live Without: Estee Lauder has this foundation…it’s called Double Wear Foundation. It is incredible. I’ve been through so many different kinds of liquid foundations, and this one is awesome. It looks perfect for stage, for every day, so it’s great. MAC has this powder called Studio Fix and I always have it with me, in my purse. I use it right before I go out on stage. It’s really good for last minute touch ups or whatever and so I know it’s gonna stay on me on stage. MAC also has a Studio Fix mist, and it’s great. I love it just to sort of set your face. The last thing I’ll give you, not that you needed a crazy list, is Velour Lashes. I don’t wear them every day or even every show, but just at certain events. I love getting to play with the fake lashes and Velour has some of the best lashes that I’ve used to date. They’re just so thick and lashy, but they look natural.

On Her Style Icons: I love Victoria Beckham, just the clothes she chooses and the style she wears. Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston too. I’ve always thought she chooses really great red carpet dresses. I’d probably have to say Angelina Jolie too. I know they’re all like crazy, big celebrities, but they’re super fashionable.

On Her Personal Style: You know, I wear a lot of skinny jeans when I’m on stage. I don’t wear a lot of dresses because I find that playing guitar and guitar solos and jumping up and down and jumping off of things can be kind of a dangerous thing. I wear a lot of skinny jeans, and lots of shorts. I like things that are tailored in a lot of ways. Even the dresses that I’ll choose for a red carpet look, I just like tailored pieces or weird fashion trends. I love stuff that is just a little bit out of the box.

On Her Biggest Beauty Flub: I’ve always been like a nude lipstick girl, but I’ve recently got into bright lipstick, like really bright pink or bright red. Singing into a microphone with bright red lipstick is a whole art. You have to be very careful with kind of lipstick you use and the primer you set around your lip. I remember I was actually at the Opry of all places. It was the first time I decided to wear red lipstick in a long time singing, and so you know, I just picked up red lipstick that was in my make-up bag, put it on and walked on stage, sang my song, was in a great mood, walked off stage and I was like, ‘that was awesome.’ One of the girls was like, ‘uh…Lindsay you need to go look at your face,’ and it looked like I had just made out with the microphone. I had red lipstick all over my face. I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, I cannot believe I was just out on the Opry stage and I smeared red lipstick all over my mouth!’  You definitely live and learn.
