Brent Cobb: Fireside Sessions – ‘Pavement Ends’

It’s time for another installment of the Fireside Sessions with Brent Cobb!

The latest video features the song “Pavement Ends.” Country fans might be familiar with the track already because it was recorded by CMA Vocal Group of the Year, Little Big Town, for their latest album Tornado. Cobb co-wrote the song with Jason Saenz. The pair also co-wrote Cobb’s latest single, “Love On Me.”

“Pavement Ends” was the first song Cobb and Saenz wrote together. “We sat down to write the song late one night. Jason was a banker at the time, so he couldn’t write until about 6 o’clock in the evening, which was perfect,” Cobb recalls. “We just had a few beers and hung out in the dark, got to know one another, and started the song.”

What started out as “just random lyrics” began to make sense. Cobb says they knew they had something special and that it just “felt good.”
