Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood Nominated for 2017 People’s Choice Awards

Shelton finds himself as the top of the nominations list for country artists, with nods in the Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Album categories for the show.

Just as everyone thought voting season was over, it’s time to rev up those opinions, but in pop culture, for the 2017 People’s Choice Awards.

Blake Shelton finds himself as the top of the nominations list for country artists, with nods in the Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Album categories for the show. Shelton joins great company in his country format, with artists like Carrie Underwood and Kelsea Ballerini also receiving nominations.

In the Favorite Male Country Artist category, Shelton is followed by Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt and Tim McGraw. The Favorite Female Country Artist category follows suit with high talent by holding nominations for Underwood, Ballerini, Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire. The 2017 People’s Choice Awards also hosts a category for Favorite Country Group, which features nods for Little Big Town, The Band Perry, Lonestar, Florida Georgia Line and Zac Brown Band.

The event, which is voted on by fans from the public, honors pop culture in various categories from television to movies to music. They even have created sections in the show to highlight the online talent that has developed over the recent years through social media and online outlets like YouTube.

The 2017 People’s Choice Awards will air live from Los Angeles on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
