"Song’s doing well…it’s climbing!’ So, it’s pretty crazy saying that to Vince Gill, but it’s a lot of fun," said Young.

Chris Young had a banner year in 2016, notching two No.1 songs with “I’m Comin’ Over” and “Think Of You” from his ACM nominated album I’m Comin’ Over. Now, the Tennessee native is on his third single from the project, a collaboration between himself and the legendary Vince Gill. The song has slowly, but surely, made its way up the charts, something that Young is proud to tell his collaborator when they see each other.

“I’ve seen Vince a couple of different times, I saw him obviously at the CMA awards and a few times here and there in between since the song’s been out,” explained Young. “It’s pretty cool being able to look at him and go ‘yeah man, our song is doing well. Song’s doing well…it’s climbing!’ So, it’s pretty crazy saying that to Vince Gill, but it’s a lot of fun.”

The track was a dream come true for Young, who is still in disbelief that Gill would accept his invitation to be a part of the song.

“The thing with asking Vince Gill to be a part of the song is…really, I just love Vince Gill,” he admitted with a laugh. “I knew I wanted somebody to guest on that for the solo, and then also the harmonies, and I was like ‘who would ask if I could ask anyone’ and it was him. So, I asked him first, and he just happened to say yes…because he’s awesome. He very easily could have said ‘no,’ and he’s got a lot of stuff going on with not only the stuff that he’s producing but also the stuff that he plays on. I feel like he’s cloned himself, he does so much stuff. So, him saying ‘yes’ to that was was really cool for me, being such a fan of his, and also knowing that he was perfect for that song, and he killed it.”

Young was even more excited when Gill took some liberties on the song during their time in Gill’s home studio together.

“Vince comes out. He sits down and he goes, ‘Now, I just don’t want you to feel if I play something, that you’re handcuffed to it. You don’t have to put it on the record if you don’t like it,’ Young told Sounds Like Nashville previously. “I look over at the wall full of Grammy awards and I’m like, ‘No, I think we’re going to keep it. I think whatever you do is gonna be fine.’ Being able to have him on the record was something really special.”

“Sober Saturday Night” is the third single from Chris Young’s I’m Comin’ Over album and currently sits in the Top 20 on both the Country Aircheck and Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.
