36-Year-Old Man Arrested, Accused of Stalking John Rich

Nashville’s WSMV is reporting that 36-year-old Mark Sevier has been arrested and accused of stalking John Rich. According to the report, Sevier has been stalking Rich for about a year.

Metro Police tell WSMV that Rich obtained two restraining orders against Sevier in July of August of last year, but despite orders to have no contact with him, Sevier continued to email the singer.

In April, Rich told police that Sevier sent him an email with a photo that showed Sevier “wearing little clothing and draped in an American flag with what appeared to be blood covering his body.”

Rich reportedly told police that he’s fearful for the safety of his wife and children since he’s often out of town for his career. One of the emails he received from the accused stalked even referenced “your infant sons.”

Sevier is being charged with aggravated stalking.

According to NewsChannel5.com, the accused is Mark Christopher Sevier, a Nashville-area lawyer. Sevier reportedly got his law degree from Vanderbilt University in 2007. He’s currently listed as “inactive-disability” by the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility.

Sevier ws arrested on Sunday (6/23) and released on bond the same day.
