The country stars brought out their best pink carpet looks as they arrived at the 2016 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday. While some stuck to their go-to country uniforms, others dazzled in unique looks that made for quite the array of fashion dos and don’ts. We’ve compiled a list for the best dressed and looks that should be left behind.

Best Dressed Women:
Carrie Underwood – Carrie can do no wrong on any red carpet! The country star swept the competition away in a mixed-palette watercolor gown. Taking the subtle floral approach, the chiffon design featured soft roses toward the skirt, but she still made the look sexy with a high-slit up the left leg. Killin’ it!
Kimberly Schlapman – On Wednesdays, Kimberly wears pink. She dazzled in her pastel-pink beaded number, capturing the trend of sheer within her floor-length skirt. She kept her curls back for an elegant updo to showcase the magnificent detailing of the dress and we approve.
Kelsea Ballerini – We loved Kelsea’s belted black ensemble like we mean it as she stunned the pink carpet. And what’s that we see? A sheer skirt to overlay what looks like tribal-patterned see-through leggings. Dibs on that, girl!
Maren Morris – She’s a 90s baby, that’s for sure! Bringing back the silky slip dress look of the decade, she shined bright in her white slinky number. Maren kept things quite simple, pairing the dress with a small pendant necklace and three-strap sandals.
Camila Cabello from Fifth Harmony – Staying on the more elegant and classy side, Camila rocked the whole mock-neck trend with her white cap sleeve gown. And if you look close enough, you’ll be floored at the gorgeous paisley-style detailing along the skirt. Make it work!

Best Dressed Men:
Thomas Rhett – Damn, Thomas! Back at it again with the white Vans! Skipping the t-shirt for his navy suit coat with the black-piped button-up was the right decision because we all were left swooning. He sure knows how to keep it cool, calm and collected.
Brett Eldredge – Get a man that can do both: sing and dress well. Brett looked ultra-suave in his charcoal grey suit with a dark navy shirt. Plus, those cool buckled dress shoes are earning major points for the “Wanna Be That Song” singer.
Chad Michael Murray – Be right back, going to fangirl over the return of Chad Michael Murray. With his floppy combed hair and perfectly tailored three-piece suit, it’s like bringing us back to the days when his posters ruled our rooms in 2004. Oh, Chad Michael!
Sam Hunt – Fashion is all about taking risks and Sam Hunt is all about his fashion. Taking the more casual dressy approach to the carpet, he styled his black-and-white 60s inspired polo with slim slacks and shiny dress shoes. Best way to accessorize a look like his? With that perfect smile, of course!
Jake Owen – Jake looked summer ready in his fresh white t-shirt and faded grey jeans with casual skate shoes. Topping off the cool guy look with a light kelly green blazer, he was red carpet ready.
Looks to Leave Behind:
Elle King – While the low-cut whole jumpsuit thing is in at the moment, this glittery get-up did not flatter her figure like we wish it did.
Jessie James Decker – We know she’s an absolutely stunning woman, but please don’t forget the second half of your slip next time, Jessie.
Martina McBride –Leather is cool and so are minis, but this dress does not cut it. Martina may have her makeup looking flawless, but the material of the dress makes the look seem a little cheap.
Jason Aldean – We know Jason loves his denim, but this time around, it’s a little too mismatched for our tastes. Yikes.
Shay Mooney from Dan + Shay – Next time, please leave the couch jacket at home. Nothing is wrong with an all-black ensemble; stick to the solids next time!
