Brett Young Believes in The Giving Keys

The chain necklaces Brett Young always wears aren’t just an accessory for show. There’s more to the story behind the simple piece.

Each pendant features a single dangling key and looking even more closely at the key itself, there is always an enriching word imprinted onto it. These necklaces are part of an organization called The Giving Keys and Young is a huge supporter of the company.

Inspired by the mission of the Giving Keys to help out the homeless community, Young values the necklaces he has bought so far through the company. Each key he holds has a message that defines a deeper meaning to him personally.

“I have one that says love and then one that says create and one that says be young, which is a double meaning because it’s obviously my name, but it’s always a message to don’t lose your youth and they made that for me when I visited the warehouse, and I think it’s a great thing that they do ‘cause it’s not just that they rehabilitate the homeless and give them jobs, but it’s also that their message is strong and they want to help people,” he explained.

Just as The Giving Keys ultimately gives back in a charitable motion, people who own their keys can in turn pay it forward by passing on their necklaces to people who they think need the key’s message the most. One by one, the cycle changes lives in an uplifting way that Young wholeheartedly believes in.

“The concept of giving a key to somebody who’s going through something to lift them up or make them feel better is, I think, brilliant and a phenomenal idea and I’m behind it a hundred percent,” said Young.

Young is currently promoting his latest single, “Sleep Without You,” and will give a little bit more along the way, thanks to The Giving Keys.
