The Best Looks From Carrie Underwood’s Impressive Storyteller Tour

One of the most thrilling country tours in recent years was that of Carrie Underwood, who played to more than a million fans on the Storyteller Tour – Stories in the Round. With more than 100 shows in nine different countries, the Oklahoma native impressed fans with her iconic vocals, stunning costumes and eye-catching sets.

During the course of her hit-filled set, Underwood strutted her stuff on a 360-degree stage, allowing fans to never miss a moment of the action. While she’s best known for her upbeat songs like “Before He Cheats,” “Undo It,” “Blown Away,” and “Good Girl,” it was the ballads that made an indelible mark on those in attendance. From a family photo montage during “What I Never Knew I Always Wanted” to a cover of “I Will Always Love You” that left fans breathless, Underwood had everyone in the palm of her hand during those more stripped-down moments.

Underwood’s vocals weren’t the only show-stopping aspect from the Storyteller Tour. Her unique and eye-catching stage costumes also had fans in awe. From short dresses with fringe and sequins, to long flowing numbers, the superstar donned so many amazing looks throughout the tour.

Costume designer Marina Toybina worked closely with the “Church Bells” singer to create stunning stage looks for the tour. Allowing each show to be a bit different, they created several different looks.

“The show is split into five sections and for each of those she has about three or four options. Each night she can manipulate the look of the show or pick what she’s comfortable in,” Toybina told Glamour. “It’s an evolution and not the same for each show, so it’s about 20 to 25 various looks that are being continuously worn. We’ve always done [wardrobe options] with Carrie. Things aren’t done in duplicate forms because everything was so customized and each was so different. It’s a personal preference of hers to switch in and out of things when she’s performing. Not being tied down to one look on constant repetition makes it a little bit more interesting.”
