CMA Encourages Black-Tie Dress for Upcoming 50th Annual CMA Awards

Celebrating 50 years of anything deserves a little bit of fancy dress and CMA is taking the lead by asking its attendees to sport a high class look for this year’s CMA Awards.

With the 50th Annual CMA Awards coming to Nashville in November, the invitation this time around encourages its guests to take the lead from country icon Johnny Cash and dress ‘to the nines’ in black-tie attire, according to Music Row.

What this dress code means for those attending the show that night is basically that the men should be looking their most dapper in a well-fitted tuxedo and the women…well, they have a few more options. Typically, women at a black-tie event must take the fancy dress appropriately but can do so in more ways than just a simple gown. Cocktail dresses should be in dark or jewel-toned shades and if one dares to toe the fashion line, separates are allowed if fabrics and silhouettes mirror the classiness of the event.

The 50th Annual CMA Awards will air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, November 2 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
