In Pearce’s latest blog for Sounds Like Nashville, she shows fans how to create the perfect beach wave that could make even Victoria’s Secret Angels jealous! Whether you need a quick, easy style to impress your dream date or you want to look sexy for a night out with the girls, Pearce gives the simplest tutorial to follow for those luscious locks!

Ladies know styling our hair isn’t always the easiest task and can lead to frustration and minor burns on our foreheads, neck or hands. I’ve had a lot of trial and error with my hair throughout the years, whether it’s getting show-ready hair or fixing it up for a night out. Here are a few of my tips to help get those beach wave curls. P.S. (If the wand scares you no worries because I don’t use one to do my curls.)

I’ve been curling and styling my own hair for a while now! It started back in middle school because my hair just did not look good straight so my mom, who’s a cosmetologist, taught me how to curl it. You’re not likely to find me without my hair curled because it just ain’t cute. I always remember visiting my grandmother in her beauty shop and that’s why I take pride in styling my hair because both my mother and grandmother did.

These two aren’t the only people I had to look up to when it came to hair there was also Dolly Parton. Actually, working at Dollywood is where I first learned to tease my hair! After all, it was Dolly who said, “The higher the hair, the closer to God!” So, obviously I’m a big believer in the teasing comb. My friends actually tease me and say I always have two things in my purse: a teasing comb and hairspray.

As for my curls…it only takes about 5 minutes to curl my hair. The key is to not leave it on my hair too long. I personally use a Conair curling iron from Walmart, but know it’s always good to stick with the iron that works best for you. I seriously just can’t use a wand, so ladies don’t worry, you can still get babe-worthy curls without a wand. I use a 1 ½ inch iron to curl my hair and then I take a 1 inch iron to touch up areas. My secret is bending the iron near the root of the hair and leaving a 1 inch to 1 ½ half of hair out at the end. (this is how I get my waves) After I curl my hair I take my fingers and separate the curls and use texture beach wave spray.

In terms of the products I use, I love using Paul Mitchell (my mom was a big part of that.) For texture spray, I use Bumble! Also, a lot, a lot, a lot of Moroccan oil. I put so much heat on my hair this is definitely a must have. A little dry shampoo never hurts either (my fav!).

We all take on our own identity and hair can be a big part of that so find what hairstyle makes you the person you want to be and go with it!
