Kelleigh Bannen Shares Her ‘On The Road LOVES’

Kelleigh Bannen

We’re so excited to have EMI Recording artist Kelleigh Bannen as a guest blogger this week! To celebrate her brand new single, “You Are What You Love,” Bannen is sharing her “On The Road LOVES” (aka the 10 things she can’t live without while on tour) with us. Check it out below.

If “Country Music Is Love” (which I believe) and “You Are What You Love” (which I also believe, and which happens to be the name of my new single)…then I am & you are Country music, right? I really do believe we are tied to the things we love. The big things: family, friends, faith, vocation. And the smaller things: summer vacations, a great cup of coffee, simple Sunday mornings. And that all those “loves” make us who we are. So, I’m thrilled to be a guest blogger for CMIL and share some of my other “loves”–my “must haves” list– for surviving life on the road.

1. Disposable face wipes. Great for removing stage make-up and for freshening up between flights.

2. An easy year-round hat. Perfect for disguising “travel hair.”

3. Funky shades. Don’t take your nice sunglasses on the road…they’re the first thing you’ll lose. Forever 21 is great for sunnies under $10.

4. Kevin Murphy Powder Puff! I love this thing. Sprinkle on your roots & massage it into your scalp for a good root lift on day-old hair. Also perfect for creating big, teased stage hair.

5. A classic leather jacket. Great on stage & great for travel. It’s an easy way to pull a really casual look together and a good layering piece on chilly planes and buses!

6. Gloss. Chapped lips aren’t cute or comfortable! And planes dehydrate you! This Smashbox gloss actually reacts to your skin to turn a pretty pink.

7. Curling wand. I usually have 2 different sizes with me at all times. This way your wave looks effortless (ha!) but not too perfect.

8. Grab-The-Gold Bars. These are great snack bars made in Franklin, TN. I have one of these or a Luna bar in my bag at all times in case I’m nearing the edge of hangry!

9. Falsies! These are a “half lash” by Kre-at Beauty if you want a little splurge, $15. They’re easier to apply than a full length set because you just line them up with the outer edge of your lid. (And you can re-use them.) But drugstore brands are great too.

10. A sleep mask. An absolute MUST for the dreaded red-eye flights. No, you don’t care that people are staring at you OR that they think you’re high maintenance. You need your beauty rest!

11. A fresh, light scent. I bring a reusable travel-sized perfume bottle, but it’s also great to just snag some samples from your local department store & put ‘em in your purse.

12. Killer, comfortable, stage shoes. Since I love to stomp around all over the stage, a bootie or wedge is best. These are Jeffrey Campbell and his shoes are really comfortable but still look “special.”
