Brooke Eden knows how to make hard work look easy and looks good wearing success. But music is just one side of the Florida native’s lifestyle.

In need of some ever-present sun kissed skin and a little shimmy of fringe, Eden doesn’t let “Daddy’s Money” define her style. In the process of making her debut album, she let us in on her list of beauty essentials and the crisis that is getting your hair stuck in a microphone cord.

Check out Eden’s SLN Style Profile below:

On her daily beauty routine: “I wish that I had some kind of beauty regimen or something. It depends on my level of tired. If I get to the end of the day and I’m just like ‘I can’t adult anymore,’ I’m just gonna go to sleep. I have these little makeup pads that are in a little cubby by my bed and then I’ll just use those. Sometimes, I just don’t take off my makeup at all. Then, if I’m good and I have a lot of energy at the end of the day, I’ll actually wash my face. I also put on my makeup a weird way. I start with my mascara instead of my eyeliner. I put on my mascara before my eyeshadow and I’ve had numerous people tell me that it’s super backwards, but it’s just the way I do it.”

Three products she can’t live without: “bareMinerals is the foundation that I use and I just love it. I also take out Perfect Glow lotion with me. Perfect Glow is a company in my hometown that has this amazing rub-on tan because being from Florida, I’m used to being tan but living in Nashville, I had to get used to getting white. So I definitely love to have my tanning stuff with me. Also, a wand. I gotta have like a hair wand. They’re so much easier than curling irons because I’m super girly, but I’m really bad at doing hair.”

Her fashion icon: Dolly Parton, baby! I mean she’s 70 years old and she still looks so fly every day. I love that she always wears sparkles. She just always look so fabulous. And John Wayne! So if Dolly Parton and John Wayne had a fashion baby, that would be what I would want to be because I love John Wayne’s fringe game. His fringe game is so strong!”

How she describes her style: “My dad was a drummer and my mom dressed manikins in store-front windows, so a lot of my fashion sense comes from her. But I love fringe and I love turquoise. I’m part-Native American. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but it just feels natural to me to have turquoise stones for whatever reason.”

The best beauty advice she’s ever received: “There’s this whole fable of you have to take your makeup off every night before you go to bed; otherwise, it ages you so much. But my mom…she’s 51 and she looks like my sister. She never washes her face before she goes to sleep and her whole side of the story is the less you wash your face, the less your face cells move, so the less wrinkles you end up with. I don’t know how much I believe it, but being my mom, she’s making me a believer!”

Biggest beauty flub: “My thing is probably my hair because I like to whip it around a lot, but I also have probably a lot of product in it. I whip my hair around and then hope for the best. My hair is really long and it does get stuck in stuff. It’s gotten stuck in a microphone cord.”
