Carly Pearce Honors National Guard Captain Sister During Show

Carly Pearce took a moment during her show in Evansville, Indiana over the weekend to honor a very special person. During her set on Lady A’s What A Song Can Do Tour she brought up her sister, Cristy, who is a Captain in the National Guard and will be deployed to Kuwait this weekend.

“Last night was such a special night for my family,” Pearce wrote alongside photos of her and Cristy on stage. “I surprised my sister (she wanted to kill me) & brought her up on stage, asking the crowd for their prayers as she heads to Kuwait this weekend to serve as a Captain in the National Guard. What a beautiful moment it was for someone I admire & love so much.”

Pearce continued, adding that she and the audience members also had a moment of silence to honor the 13 U.S. service members who were killed in the attack at the Kabul, Afghanistan airport on August 26th.

“We also together gave a moment of silence for the devastating loss our country experienced this past week & cheered for all of the men & women who have served that were in the crowd,” wrote Pearce. “Cristy, thank you for your service. I love you & I’ll miss you, but am so damn proud of you.”

The comments on the post were flooded with messages of support and thanks to Pearce’s sister and all service men and women. Cassie Kelley, wife of Lady A’s Charles Kelley, commented on the post, writing, “Cristy, thank you for your service! Safety & love with you the whole way.” Runaway June sent Pearce and her sister hearts and an American flag and Dan + Shay’s Dan Smyers’ wife Abby also sent her love.

Pearce joins Lady A on the tour through October 10th. Tenille Arts and Niko Moon also serve as support acts.
