Watch a Young Thomas Rhett Sing With Dad Rhett Akins in Sweet Throwback Video
Thomas Rhett took to social media Friday (3/18) to share a throwback video of himself as a child singing with his country star dad, Rhett Akins. The video opens on a young Rhett sporting a cute mullet and a cowboy hat and singing along to his dad’s guitar playing. The video then zooms out, revealing Thomas Rhett and Akins singing together. Rhett shared the home video to celebrate the first episode of his Apple Music show, Where We Started Radio, which features Akins as his very first guest.

The radio channel is named after Rhett’s upcoming album, Where We Started, which drops April 1. The album features 15 tracks, including his latest single, “Slow Down Summer.” The project follows his 2020 record, Country Again: Side A. The singer delayed the album’s second part, Country Again: Side B, in order to release Where We Started.
“This record is so special in a lot of different ways, from the lyrics to the melodies to the collaborations that are on here,” he said of the project. “It should be really fun.”
In addition to releasing his Where We Started album, Rhett will embark on his headlining Bring The Bar To You Tour on June 17 in Gilford, NH. The tour runs through October 15 in Dayton, OH, and Rhett will bring along Conner Smith and Parker McCollum as openers.
