Country singer Jimmie Allen has been living every parent’s worst nightmare, after rushing his infant daughter Zara to the hospital with breathing problems. In a pair of frustrated tweets posted Tuesday (November 23), the Best New Artist Grammy nominee said his family has not received the care they need.

According to the tweets, one-month-old Zara James lost color and stopped breathing for a time, sending the distraught parents to an emergency room. Feeling like their concern was not shared by the hospital staff, Allen vented to his followers — and this was apparently not the first time the family had been brushed off.

Allen’s wife Alexis also sounded off on Instagram this week, saying both Zara and 20-month-old daughter Naomi had been sick for days but were turned away when they initially sought treatment.

“Basically if your child isn’t blue at the lips they will not have answers for you,” she wrote, The Boot reported.

Allen’s tweets suggest that days later, Zara was rushed to the hospital again, only to be sent home again. And after yet another scare and another frantic call for help, the country star has had enough. He now says no family should have to go through what they did.

“Attention Doctors, if the parent of your one month old patient tells you the child having a hard time breathing and the only thing your lazy self wants to do is check heart heart and temperature find another career. Your job is to save lives so do it,” Allen wrote, blasting an unnamed Tennessee hospital staff.

“[N]ow thanks to the lazy doctors at a hospital in TN that just sent our daughter home, our daughter Zara lost color stopped breathing and is being rushed to another hospital. Thanks to the amazing EMT team that brought back Zara’s color she can breath again. Gonna be a rough night.”

There was no further word from Allen on what happened, but many fans and friends posted well-wishing comments. Zara James Allen was born on October 16, 2021, just as Allen was competing on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. She joined sister Naomi and brother Aadyn, Allen’s son from a previous marriage.

The CMA New Artist of the Year was just nominated for a Grammy in the coveted, all-genre Best New Artist category yesterday (November 23), but has yet to react to that news as his family look for answers.
