Luke Bryan Pranked by Wife Caroline on ‘American Idol’
Luke Bryan’s wife, Caroline, pulled off a masterful prank her on her husband while he was filming American Idol.
On a recent episode, Bryan and fellow judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie welcomed a (fake) contestant to the audition stage. As the contestant started to sing, a phone alarm went off behind the cameras, and a stagehand (Caroline in a disguise) turned off the alarm and apologized. Bryan and Richie, who were both unaware of the prank, were distracted by the alarm, but they continued the audition.
Once the audition continued, the stagehand began loudly eating a bag of snacks. The judges stopped the audition once again to address the disturbance behind the cameras. Perry, who was in on the prank, walked over to the stagehand and took the bag, after which she aggressively took it back from Perry. Bryan and Richie were clearly alarmed by the situation and Richie called for the stagehand to be kicked out. Perry then revealed the mystery person to be Caroline — much to Bryan’s surprise.
The prank is another in a long history of pranks between Bryan and Caroline. The two often share their hilarious pranks on social media. One of Bryan’s most memorable pranks on his wife occurred when he played the sound of a train horn from his car while she was riding her bike.
The two also often prank each other in the days leading up to Christmas — a time they call “Pranksmas.” Caroline and Luke have also pranked Luke’s Mother, LeClaire, who takes it all in good fun.
American Idol airs Sundays on ABC at 8PM ET.
