Beyoncé. Michael Jackson. The Rolling Stones. These are just a few of the legendary Super Bowl Halftime performers over the years. Playing halftime at the biggest football game of the year would be a touchdown for any artist in the music industry. To score a gig as huge as that equals the big time and that’s an understatement. While Coldplay will be taking center field this year, we are forever rooting for these five country artists to play the Super Bowl:

Kenny Chesney

1. Kenny Chesney
A former football player himself, Kenny would fit right in to the whole NFL Halftime Show. He loves his boys of fall and we would love if he got to suit up to take the field one more time.

Carrie Underwood 3

2. Carrie Underwood
While she may be a hockey girl by marriage, Carrie is a football lover at heart. She even sings the Sunday Night Football theme, so we think she meets the qualifications needed to perform.

3. Luke Bryan
Girls love him. Guys want to be like him. He puts on one heck of a show. What other reasons do you need to make him the halftime performer of the year? That’s what we thought.

Tim McGraw

4. Tim McGraw
The best Superbowl Halftime shows are the ones when the performers play hit after hit after hit. Tim McGraw has so many classics out of his collection that his performance would make the perfect catch for the crowd. (Side note: if this happened, Faith Hill would have to make a surprise appearance!)

Lady Antebellum

5. Lady Antebellum
Let’s get this thing straight: Lady Antebellum knows how to rock the house whenever they perform live. With some of their singles having the whole pop crossover effect, they would own the night!
