Over the past 11 years, Brett Eldredge has become one of the top voices in country music. Beginning his path in 2010 with debut single, “Raymond,” the Warner Music Nashville artist has continued to evolve with multiple hit singles, four albums, and many awards and nominations. Eldredge has also become one of the go-to artists in country for Christmas music, and his latest Christmas album, Mr. Christmas, dropped in October 2021. Here’s a look back through Eldredge’s 11 years of making music and his top 10+ songs.

  1. “Raymond” — from Bring You Back

Eldredge introduced county listeners to his emotive storytelling with his debut single, “Raymond,” which was released in 2010. In this tune, Eldredge sings from the perspective of a man who works as a janitor at a nursing home. He then details how one woman at the nursing home believes he is her son, Raymond, so Eldredge simply lets her believe it. The song takes an even more emotional turn when Eldredge reveals that the real Raymond was a soldier who died in war. This goosebump-inducing song not only tells a bittersweet story, but it shines a light on Alzheimer’s, an illness from which Eldredge’s own grandmother suffered.

2. “Don’t Ya” — from Bring You Back

“Raymond” was a solid first single for Eldredge, landing at No. 23 on the charts, but he found his first radio hit with his 2012 single, “Don’t Ya.” In this upbeat tune, Eldredge sets his eyes on a woman and the two exchange glances across the room. This song continued to establish Eldredge as an up-and-coming mainstream singer and it also set the scene for more upbeat love songs to come. “Don’t Ya” also became Eldredge’s first No. 1 hit.

3. “Beat of the Music” — from Bring You Back

Eldredge continued the theme of releasing energetic love songs with his 2013 single, “Beat of the Music.” In this classic tune, the artist sings of getting involved in a whirlwind romance with a woman in Mexico. It’s clear the love affair isn’t meant to last, but the couple simply enjoys one another while they can, dancing to the “beat of the music.” This song brought Eldredge his second official hit, landing at No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart and being certified Platinum.

4. “Mean To Me” — from Bring You Back

For his fifth official single, Eldredge released another love song, “Mean To Me,” but this tune features a slower tempo than his previous two singles. In the song, Eldredge is accompanied by acoustic guitar as he pours out his heart to a love interest and shares how much she means to him. The song’s music video was filmed in Chicago, Illinois and shows Eldredge getting dressed up for a date. “Mean To Me” continued Eldredge’s stream of hits, becoming his third consecutive No. 1 song.

5. “Lose My Mind” — from Illinois

After finding great success with his debut album, Bring You Back, Eldredge released his sophomore project, Illinois, in 2015. The lead off single for that album was “Lose My Mind,” a fast-paced love song in which Eldredge sings about a love interest who makes him a little bit crazy. The song is full of clever lyrics and it kept Eldredge’s hit streak going, becoming his fourth No. 1 hit.

7. “Drunk On Your Love” — from Illinois

Eldredge continued his winning strategy of love songs with his next single, “Drunk On Your Love,” which was released in 2015. In this spirited tune, Eldredge compares his relationship with a woman to getting drunk, as he sings, “The second she walked through the door, I caught a buzz.” The chorus of the song features a sing-along worthy beat and the tune is generally optimistic about love. This song landed just short of the No. 1 spot at No. 2, but it remains one of Eldredge’s most essential songs.

6. “Wanna Be That Song” — Illinois

By 2016, Eldredge had established himself as a hit singer/songwriter with a penchant for love songs, and his next single, “Wanna Be That Song,” added to that hit catalog. Like many of this love songs, this tune uses a metaphor to describe how he feels about a loved one. The song also showcases the familiar country sound present in Eldredge’s music, complete with acoustic guitar, steel guitar and other country elements. “Wanna Be That Song” brought Eldredge back to the top spot on the charts, landing at No. 1.

8. “The Long Way” — from Brett Eldredge

In 2017, Eldredge released his self-titled, third studio album, which produced another successful song, “The Long Way.” In this love song, Eldredge sings about wanting to learn everything about a new love interest by taking “The Long Way” around her hometown. For the music video, Eldredge and Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson acted out the song’s story. “The Long Way” peaked at No. 7 on the country charts.

9. “Gabrielle” — from Sunday Drive

After 10 years of releasing successful singles, Eldredge opened a new chapter with his 2020 album, Sunday Drive. This album features tunes that differ slightly from his past hits, and the piano-driven “Gabrielle” kicked off the album as the lead single. In this song, Eldredge sings about a lost love and wonders what led to the demise of their relationship. Although the song’s subject is bittersweet, the production is upbeat, and Eldredge’s strong voice soars over the unique instrumentation. “Gabrielle” peaked within the Top 30 on the charts and introduced Eldredge’s new sound to fans.

10. “Good Day” — from Sunday Drive

For his second single from Sunday Drive, Eldredge released “Good Day,” a tune that infuses some positivity into the day of whoever is listening. The song is unapologetically optimistic, as Eldredge encourages listeners to make the most of the day, even if they don’t feel positive themselves. In the tune, he sings about starting his day with Sinatra and enjoying the colors of the fall leaves. This song just reached No. 54 on the charts, but it remains a solid example of Eldredge’s upbeat songwriting.
