Face it, by the middle of January winter isn’t quite as darned charming as it was when the Christmas decorations were still twinkling in the windows. If you need to escape the cold gray days and you love live music, then the 30A Songwriters Festival January 18 through 21 in WaterColor, FL might just be the solution to your winter blahs.
Actually, the festival will take place all over the Beaches of South Walton, with more than 225 performances by 175-plus songwriters spread out over 25 venues ranging from intimate clubs to large amphitheaters throughout the 16 beach neighborhoods. For the tenth edition of this festival organizers have pulled out all the stops, inviting some very special artists to headline shows. Nashville favorites like Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, Rosanne Cash and Lucinda Williams will be big draws, but they aren’t the only stars that will be shining on the beach.

Additional artists performing throughout the weekend include Patty Griffin, Steve Earle, Suzy Bogguss, Marc Broussard, Amanda Shires, Shawn Mullins, Justin Townes Earle, Robyn Hitchcock and Radney Foster, names that might very well be at the top of the bill at most festivals. And don’t forget the up-and-coming songwriters who will be baring their souls in smaller venues. Some of them might be the future headliners.
Regular ticket packages have already sold out, but VIP packages are still available at the festival website. After all, you’re V.I.P., aren’t you?
